Episode four of VH1’s The Pick Up Artist brought the heat!

 
The lessons on this episode were on the finer points of Kino Escaltion, which is a little more difficult to practice with a wingman.  Luckily they brought in a “PRO,” a Sexologist. As an Arizona native I always thought they were called “ladies of the night” that you picked up on Van Buren, but I must be mistaken.

I spoke to Greg and Brian about this at the viewing party last night and asked if there were any “too hot for TV clips,” they shared a few hilarious stories, and Brian even demonstrated his moves on me which will be up later in the week here….

Getting that first kiss can be a huge sticking point for most.  Luckily there are kiss close routines to help you out.  One of the most tried and true, as well as getting the Pick Up Labs Stamp of Approval is the Evolution Phase Shift kiss close written by Style.

This routine is so money that even though I have my own techniques on kissing, I was recently having a conversation with some Stylelife students.  We were discussing the fact that with everything now mainstream if the “canned” material was still applicable.  We just so happen to be discussing this in a strip club as a lovely dancer was sitting in my lap.  She heard what we were talking about and said, “that stuff would NEVER work on me!  I get tons of guys each night trying to kiss me, and I NEVER have!”

I decided this was a perfect time to show how a Certified Routine like this never goes out of style.

I told her I would demo a way I teach guys how to kiss woman and right when I was getting ready to start, I paused and said, “wait, before I begin, what perfume is that?”  Then ran the exact same routine, word for word, that is in this weeks mission.

At the end of it, we were both facing each other, moving closer in, and just as our lips touched I pulled back and said, “ya, I would do something like that!”

She froze for 5 seconds, realized what just happend, and freaked out.  She instantly was a believer, as were all the guys who saw it happen.

I always say a the only way to see if something works is to test it for yourself!

The last viewing party at Neil Strauss‘ home was cooler than we could have imagined.

Besides the fact that Mystery, Matador, Neil Strauss, Tara, Sin, Greg, Brian, Kevin, Evolve, The Sneak, and myself were all there with tons of other community people and fans,  we were also able to shoot some awesome interviews.

I was asked, after the last clip, if we could produce another video with more “behind the scenes” footage and longer versions of the interviews, well good news they are here!

On the second episode of VH1’s The Pick Up Artist two shocking things occurred.

The first, Kevin was kicked off the show.  The poll on the right had him as a fan favorite with a strong lead over the competition.  Looks like everyone who voted will have to clear their cookies and pick someone else!

The second and almost as equally unimagined, Matt after winning the grandma challenge was given a boa to wear out to the Scottsdale club.

A BOA???

I would kick my own ass if I was wearing one of those, and I am sure there would be some sort of chemical reaction between the fluffy feathers and the testosterone coursing through my body.

But then a crazy thing happens, a woman comes and approaches Matt for the first time in his life!

That is all it takes to get woman to approach us?

Welcome everyone, this is my first post on Pick Up Labs.

I want to quickly let you know what you will be seeing from this site in the near future.

Many are finding the social arts a few years after the rest of us. While this is a good thing there are a few cons. When many of us were learning the ropes, the amount of material available was severely limited. Now there are tons of sites claiming to offer the latest and greatest pick up techniques. The cons, most of this stuff is untested, the stuff that maybe is not up to the standards of many MPUA’s, and the PUA arts are now going mainstream, so the chances of getting called out on the classic material increases.

Pickuplabs.com was created as a free platform that lets you experiment, examine, share and discuss new and proven pick up material including blog, audio and video. Pickuplabs.com serves as Stylelife Academy’s laboratory for developing new pick up material.

Gone are the days of going out in the field with no faith in the material you are about to use, or trying to use material that doesn’t fit your style.

Think of us as the Consumer Reports of Pick Up.

I will write more about this soon in another post, but now I want to cover the 2nd season premiere of VH1’s The Pick Up Artist.

Last time there was a gathering at Neil’s house this big, it was for the season one finale / birthday party for Mystery. Now a year later we are all back for the first episode. Nine lucky men are getting the chance of a life to get personally coached by two of the foremost experts on the art of seduction, Mystery and Matador. JDog isn’t back this season, in his place helping give a woman’s perspective is Tara also from season 1.

After introductions the show quickly segues into everyone at a local Scottsdale hotspot and we get to see first hand how guys with out training try to approach women. For me, this is some of the most valuable footage of the show. For some these openers may work, if you convey tons of instant value, but for most of us asking a girl what she is drinking or talking about how hot the city is doesn’t work. You also get to see some common mistakes guys make instantly.

“Can I ask you a question?” Don’t ask this, she can respond with a “no,” then where do you go?

“Hi, my name is ….” or “I’m Todd by the way” Don’t offer your name is she doesn’t ask. If she doesn’t ask, she doesn’t care. If you ask for her’s, and then she asks what your name is, that is an “IOI” Indicator of Interest, and is a good sign. Along the same path don’t volunteer information about yourself like what you do for work, or what kind of car you drive. That is bragging and try hard, and then you instantly lose what value any of those things have.

Later in the show when it’s time to get the makeovers, you can see how hard it is for guys to shop when they are clueless. Wandering around aimlessly, just grabbing things hoping they will look cool, but that can be hard to do when you don’t even know what cool is! What you should be doing is just asking for help, from the staff, girls you know, girls you meet in the store, someone. Then slowly keep adding new cool things to your wardrobe so it is always evolving and improving. Try things that are out of your comfort zone and see how they work, my rule is if females give you positive feedback you are on to something.

Kevin mentions that his mom has been cutting his hair for all of his life. This is really BAD! Unless mom works at Vidal Sassoon, leave the haircutting to a pro. Hair along with the rest of your body is one thing that doesn’t change night to night like your shirt or shoes. So skip the pizza one night and spend the extra money on getting a good haircut, you can always go back to your old barber after and see if they can recreate it on the cheap.

After the make overs you can see the huge impact it has, and you can see the confidence building up inside of them. To jump start your game, this is one of the best things you can do. When you feel like a new man, you can begin to act like one.

Alex gets the boot, Mystery says for not stepping up to the plate enough. It’s one thing to say you want to change and another to do everything in your power to accomplish that goal. Luckily at the after party Joe D. said he would help out his fellow big man as much as he could on the house!

Looks like they kicked this season up a notch, and after speaking to Matador the amount of training they received this season dwarfs what season 1 guys got.

I actually had to watch the episode again to break things down, Neil’s house was so packed that even on his big screen and kickass sound system I had trouble hearing everything.
