Welcome back to the Lab where running Game is our business and business is GOOOOOOD! ! !  Where we break down the results of the previous routine that could get the coveted “STAMP OF APPROVAL” or the saddened “THUMBS DOWN UNAPPROVED”.  This past week we went for the “BEST FRIEND TEST” that came from the GAME and has been seen on the Stylelife Academy Forum.  This passed many sets back in the day, but does it still work today?  Well, that is why we test it and why we check the results.  Our testers are always the very people that make the GAME a very important role in our lives.  And these testers are: YOU!

Many guys have read the book, but how many have actually tested the same routines or openers from the book?  How many guys test the openers they hear and see?  Well, this is the place to come and do so.  Always bringing the heat and always leaving them better than you found them.

Now, grab your shower caps and find your new best friend as we post the results of the BEST FRIENDS TEST:

1. Does it work successfully?

Hands down, all the testers said it worked successfully.  5/5

2. How difficult is this routine to master?

All of the testers stated that it was very EASY to master. 5/5

3. Did you get called out on using this routine?

* One tester got called out ONCE (see Metz below). Still a good rate for not getting called out, (worked 59 out of 60 times).  All the other testers said they didn’t get called out.  5/5

4. What is the hook point strength of this routine?

Testers averaged a pretty high hook point strength on this routine.  3.5/5

5. Rapport building strength?

The testers averaged a medium Rapport Building Strength.  3/5

6. Your PUA-AFC level?

Every tester fell between AFC and PUA.  (No PUAs and no one said they were an AFC).

7. Number of times tested?

Routine was tested 60+ times.

8. Any additional insight?

“The conversations can spin in all directions: ask them when did they meet, if they are good friends, tell her that good friends have at least 3 things in common and find out with them what they are => you are IN.

“I won’t go into detail about all the sets. Prior to this week, I used this when I first started and didn’t get called out. That was a year ago and still today, no one called me out. I mention the 1 call out because the girls thought I was just making this stuff up…they didn’t buy any of it at all. They didn’t know the origin of it or consider it a “pickup line” but they were being feisty.

Any object works, although shampoo does have a little bit of a shock effect…something like that is kinda personal to ask someone after you just met them so quickly. But laughter always follows when you finish the routine.

It crossed my mind that not once when I used it, the girls didn’t glance at each other. I have the backup plan incase they don’t, but never resorted to it…weird!” -Metz

“I actually preferred when the girls “failed”. they started qualifying themselves immediately, explaining why they would have failed. It’s fun when they fail it! You must come off as natural and not forced, find out what they do, then with great energy go “oh! an ex of mine showed me this cosmo quiz a few months back, you guys have to try it, I want to see if it’s real!” Also explain it with high energy, then you can quickly move into body language observing with them on other people.” -20Spot

“If a girl ever failed I would say, “how do you two know each other?” make a link or bust on them.

I actually had one girl turn away and look at a different friend which turned out to be her big sister.

If the girl answered immediately I would keep asking her random questions and then say, “yea none of those matter I just wanted to see how much you trusted me/like me/how gullible you were, loser.” -Prodigy Alpha

“It works to our advantage if you can stack with the “telepathic” vibe that you create in the set. Do a quick and simple mind-reading test on them that gets them to answer the same thing at the same time. (me: “Pick a number 1 to 5 in your heads. Okay, what number did she pick?” her: “well i picked 3…” other girl: “OMG so did i!’).” -TicoRicoSuave

“This is my favorite routine to use. I use it after opening the set — mostly in a “two set”. It works 9 out of 10 times. Interestingly, when it “doesn’t work” it is because the girls are kind of mundane or even boring.” -Menace

9. Suggested Additions of Modifications to routine (if any):

“Just in general, if you are going to use ANY routine, always keep your game face on. I used it once just out of my back pocket and just kind of threw it out there to see what would happen. The results kind of didn’t go the way I planned. The other 3 times were like clock work.” -drewder

“Just make it fun, banter with them, use mind-reading tests…It’s good when you form a “psychic circle” with them when performing the mind-reading test. Just hold hands with each other and do the test…Great for kino and it definitely creates that connection with your set.”-TicoRicoSuave

“I don’t use shampoo, I ask if they have ever liked each others boyfriends sexually. This gets them a little embarrassed and simply for fun to work off of.” -20Spot

“Don’t ask about the shampoo … be creative. I ask them about their favorite color and then go into the white chamber 4 questions game (which includes what is your fav color).” -angelsin

10. What shampoo did the girls use(just for fun)?

“Garnier Fructis was what 5 girls said.” -drewder

“Herbal Essence seemed to be the most popular answer. I had a girl say she uses Right Guard Body and hair.” -Prodigy Alpha

11. Did you get to see it in their shower?

“Right Guard Body and hair girl wasn’t lying…” - Prodigy Alpha

Alright, enough already.  We are back to normal Pick Up Labs fashion and DAMN am I ever proud to see all you guys back on here.  I had to bring out a massive treat for ya and I have been holding off on posting it until now.  And after seeing results on this, I can’t be any happier.

The routine has been around the block, but with a few Stylelife adjustments, you can now use it for the greater good of your sets.  If you can run it, escalate and then transition to her talking about herself, you should be able to close (i.e. Number close, kiss close, or EVEN BETTER.)

Now, lets check out the results for the beloved RING FINGER ROUTINE:

1. Does it work successfully?

It was unanimous.  All the testers said it was successful.  5/5

2. How difficult is this routine to master?

Most of the testers said it was pretty easy to master.  4/5 for Easy to Master

3. Did you get called out using this routine?

Not one single tester was called out for using this routine.  5/5 for NOT getting Called Out.

4. Hook point strength?
The results show that the hook point strength was fairly strong.  4/5 for Strong Hook Point.

5. Rapport building strength?

The results show that it also has a fairly strong Rapport Building Strength.  3.5/5 for Strong Rapport.

6. Your PUA-AFC level

All testers fell into the “IN BETWEEN” category (No PUAs and no one said they were an AFC).

8. Any additional insight?
“I would usually say its amazing what you wear says about you like your … and then transfer to something else she is wearing OR body language.” -Prodigy

“Earlier this month on vacation I used it on our waitress a HB 8.5 wearing an engagement ring, I’ve never seen a ring fly off a finger so fast and put on the other hand. She quickly explained it was a fake ring “If this was real I wouldn’t be waiting tables” My friends were amazed at how in a crowed bar I was able to isolate build a connection and determine she was available and interested. # closed and set up day 2 for after she got off work the next day.”-Dchipy

“It’s not necessary to get ALL the way through this routine… it can get long, especially for an opener. It is very good though, especially if you get a girl that’s into esoteric stuff.” -CloverThief

“I always hold her hand gently when I do it. I move it around and I sometimes touch each finger in the process. calibration is a must with this one.”- bondurant

“At least for me, this is done better to DHV later in the set, rather than an opener. Maybe I’m too pedestrian but when this hooks, it is a way to short-circuit / short-cut to get to rapport.” -LedZep (Menace)

“Useful as an opener, rapport builder, or in seduction.” -Forte

“Never used as an opener. Though it has always helped the transition from Approach into Attraction/DHV phase. Had one girl resist the routine since she put me into the “And, do you REALLY believe this shit?” shit test. Another girl used the “I’m totally not like that, this is bullshit” resistance. Though the rest of the girls I tested, successfully transitioned into the Cube routine, which landed #, K, and in some cases, F-Closes. The rings routine is my favorite one along with the Cube. They are always used in my stack.” -Tobasco1mpact

“This is still one of my favorite openers and ways to build rapport. I have even used it on girls wearing wedding rings, but found out later they weren’t really married.” -drewder

9. Suggested additions or modifications (if any):

“Engineers wear steel pinky rings, if I see a pinky ring I suggest she is nerdy math type with awkward social skills and disqualify her. From here you can run games that use numbers i.e. “pick a number (7)” or get her to jump a hoop to show she is not socially retarded by teaching her a secret hand shake that you will test her on later.” -Dchipy

“As an opener, maybe tell her about the meaning of the ring(s) that she’s actually wearing. Seed the extra info for later, maybe even have her help you cold read other girls in the bar.” -CloverThief

“It works a little better on a day 2 although it opens pretty well too. Don’t be afraid to change it up a little bit, skip a finger or ‘forget’ a finger and seed it, then she’ll ask about that finger. or if you’re wearing a ring, purposely skip that finger in the routine and when she asks what it represents, tell her to guess.” -bondurant

“Working on your cold reading skills and reading body language can really help you create a strong impression. It is also very easy to transfer in too another routine.” -vedom

“It’s often a good idea to use your own rings as an example (if you wear any).” -Forte

“Imperative use of disqualifiers and negs during this routine. Think of it as a playful way of getting to know the girl.” -Tobasco1mpact

“If a girl isn’t wearing rings, I sometimes take off the 3 I wear and tell her to put them on any of her 5 fingers, then I go into it.” -drewder

Testing of The Cube

You guys brought the heat!

I am very impressed with the feedback on the testing of The Cube, and it was awesome that everyone was at a different level.

17 of you came back saying how strong and effective this was in building rapport, and the majority also said that this rates high on hooking.

2 guys were asked where they learned this from, but no one was humiliated over it.  Even if you do get asked about it you can reference the book I linked in the mission like one tester did, or play it off like I do, “I learned it from a friend (I am your friend) and I thought it was cool, not sure where he learned it from” (which is true you don’t!) so this is a 100% honest response.

It looks like most people agreed this is for later in the interaction. When you are alone with her, on a day 2, somewhere a little more private and quieter is best.  I tried opening with it a few days ago and had 0% success. I figured it would work out that way, but hey anything for science!

This rated low on the difficulty scale to learn scale. While there are a few things you have to remember 4 guys said it was hard, once you perform it a few times it gets MUCH easier. You can always keep notes with you, I currently have a new bar bet I learned on the Elite forum in the notes section of my iPhone that I check before performing. 14 guys said this was not difficult to learn.

So with the testing of this mission over, it looks like The Cube kicked ass!

Grading:

Hook point strength 4 out of 5

Rapport building strength 5 out of 5

Experience level needed to perform 5 out 5

Busted level 4.5 out of 5

So this CLEARLY gets the Pick Up Labs stamp of approval. Not only can this routine be used in the club or at home, it is also a cool way to get to know someone on a deeper level instead of just using the standard interview questions.  Thanks for the help testing, new mission later this week!

The second season of VH1’s The Pick Up Artist has wrapped up.  Simeon was declared the winner (who was on my top 3 list against Joe D.’s) and we all got to see him win the show at the final viewing party at Neil’s house.

Mystery, Matador, Neil Strauss, Ross, Zan, Evolve, The Sneak, Gypsy, Topher, Diggler, Craig, Hawaii, and many more all were there including almost everyone from this season’s cast.

I have never seen so much alcohol disappear as fast as it did, even when we ordered a 2nd huge shipment.

This years season finale party was so much bigger than last years, you had trouble moving.

I interviewed Simeon right after he won the show and it was amazing seeing the transformation he went through, it’s hard to believe he was the same guy on episode one.  Him along with Greg and Brian (and maybe a few other guys from the show) all want to let you guys know about some things that couldn’t make it on air, and now that the show is over they can now share.  Make sure to keep checking out Pick Up Labs for that.  Also if you have any questions for them, send them to me and I will ask them for you.

This week’s mission was the final mission from the show.  Get a girl back to your place!

Episode four of VH1’s The Pick Up Artist brought the heat!

 
The lessons on this episode were on the finer points of Kino Escaltion, which is a little more difficult to practice with a wingman.  Luckily they brought in a “PRO,” a Sexologist. As an Arizona native I always thought they were called “ladies of the night” that you picked up on Van Buren, but I must be mistaken.

I spoke to Greg and Brian about this at the viewing party last night and asked if there were any “too hot for TV clips,” they shared a few hilarious stories, and Brian even demonstrated his moves on me which will be up later in the week here….

Getting that first kiss can be a huge sticking point for most.  Luckily there are kiss close routines to help you out.  One of the most tried and true, as well as getting the Pick Up Labs Stamp of Approval is the Evolution Phase Shift kiss close written by Style.

This routine is so money that even though I have my own techniques on kissing, I was recently having a conversation with some Stylelife students.  We were discussing the fact that with everything now mainstream if the “canned” material was still applicable.  We just so happen to be discussing this in a strip club as a lovely dancer was sitting in my lap.  She heard what we were talking about and said, “that stuff would NEVER work on me!  I get tons of guys each night trying to kiss me, and I NEVER have!”

I decided this was a perfect time to show how a Certified Routine like this never goes out of style.

I told her I would demo a way I teach guys how to kiss woman and right when I was getting ready to start, I paused and said, “wait, before I begin, what perfume is that?”  Then ran the exact same routine, word for word, that is in this weeks mission.

At the end of it, we were both facing each other, moving closer in, and just as our lips touched I pulled back and said, “ya, I would do something like that!”

She froze for 5 seconds, realized what just happend, and freaked out.  She instantly was a believer, as were all the guys who saw it happen.

I always say a the only way to see if something works is to test it for yourself!

The last viewing party at Neil Strauss‘ home was cooler than we could have imagined.

Besides the fact that Mystery, Matador, Neil Strauss, Tara, Sin, Greg, Brian, Kevin, Evolve, The Sneak, and myself were all there with tons of other community people and fans,  we were also able to shoot some awesome interviews.

I was asked, after the last clip, if we could produce another video with more “behind the scenes” footage and longer versions of the interviews, well good news they are here!

On the second episode of VH1’s The Pick Up Artist two shocking things occurred.

The first, Kevin was kicked off the show.  The poll on the right had him as a fan favorite with a strong lead over the competition.  Looks like everyone who voted will have to clear their cookies and pick someone else!

The second and almost as equally unimagined, Matt after winning the grandma challenge was given a boa to wear out to the Scottsdale club.

A BOA???

I would kick my own ass if I was wearing one of those, and I am sure there would be some sort of chemical reaction between the fluffy feathers and the testosterone coursing through my body.

But then a crazy thing happens, a woman comes and approaches Matt for the first time in his life!

That is all it takes to get woman to approach us?
